Friends of the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen

The Friends of the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen (Gesellschaft der Freunde der Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen e.V.) have accompanied the collection since 1968. The tasks of the association are nowhere more precisely described than in its statutes: the promotion, both material and non-material, of the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen. Of chief importance in this respect is the acquisition of art works. Over the years many otherwise unattainable desires of the Kunstsammlung have been fulfilled.

To match the additional demands of two buildings - K20 Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen and K21 Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen – the patrons’ association also requires a growing number of ‘friends’ who are prepared to support this internationally extremely highly regarded museum of modern and contemporary art in both material and non-material ways.

Anyone living outside Düsseldorf who feels – entirely understandably – primarily linked to the museums in his own city, should not forget, if he lives in North Rhine-Westphalia: the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen is also ‘his’ museum, as it is not a  Düsseldorf museum, but the regional gallery of the Land of North Rhine-Westphalia. There are many good reasons to become a member of the Friends of the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen. A detailed information brochure is available from the Association’s Secretariat.
