Open Media Workshop (from 8 years)

Aug 28, Sep 11, Sep 25
Free admission
Registration required

Please mind that the recovered-vaccinated-tested rule applies.

A valid student ID will replace a negative test result.

Equipped with cameras and ten computer workstations, the media workshop at K21 offers young visitors from the age of eight to high school the opportunity to experiment creatively with photography and video.

How do artists experience themselves and the world they live in? How do they express their experience in their works? At K21, you will explore new ways of interacting with the world and with images. At the same time, the artworks challenge you to ask yourselves: what matters in my life? What images affect me? How can I find and capture these images? How can I put myself and others in the limelight? To do this, you will learn photographic and cinematic techniques in the museum's exhibition spaces and in the open media workshop, and experiment with different possibilities of photography and video. Depending on whether you prefer the photo or the video camera, you can use your recordings to create a book or a video clip.

In our planning, we take into account the currently valid Corona Protection Ordinance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Therefore, please note that participation in a workshop may only be possible with a negative coronary test that is not older than 48 hours, proof of a complete vaccination or a convalescent certificate (children before school enrollment excluded). If the infection situation changes, the requirements for participation may change at short notice.
