Cloakrooms, lockers and belongings

We kindly ask you to leave coats, large bags and bulky or wet items at the cloakroom or deposited in one of the lockers. Please check or leave your jacket as well.

In both museums, cloakrooms and lockers (free of charge) are found in the entrance areas.

As a rule, objects lost in the museum are surrendered to the ticket counter. Staffmembers will then deposit these objects with the security center.

After a period of time, lost objects are handed over to the lost property office. In the event you have left objects behind in the locked locker, you may retrieve them on the following day during museum hours.

During your visit

Taking photographs for private purposes is permitted in the exhibition galleries. For reasons of copyright protection, we may prohibit the taking of photographs in special exhibitions, or in front of specific works. The corresponding notices will be posted on site.

Taking photographs or filming for commercial purposes of any kind is permissible only with prior written agreement (filming permit).

Sketchpads in DIN A3 format, as well as pencils, may be brought into the exhibition galleries.

Please understand that telephoning in the museum is undesirable. Eating and drinking, as well as smoking, is not permitted in the exhibition galleries.

Parents, legal guardians, and group leaders are responsible for the appropriate conduct of the children and young people in their charge.

The primary task of the supervisory staff is to protect the exhibit objects from damage.

Folding chairs can be borrowed from the cloakroom free of charge, and can be taken into the exhibition galleries.

Accessibility

The K20 and the K21 are accessible for the most part.

In the event of queues or longer waiting times, bearers of an official disabled persons pass will receive preferential admittance.

Visitors with walking impairments may borrow wheelchairs from the cloakroom free of charge for the duration of the visit (if possible, with prior registration with the visitor’s service).

Also available at the cloakroom (also without prior registration) are folding chairs that can be used as walkers.

With the proper credentials, seeing eye dogs and service dogs for disabled individuals can be brought into the museum.

Chaperones for blind or visually impaired visitors pay no admission charge.
