In order to rise even more to the demands posed by the three museums – K20 and K21 – which have increased appreciably over the years, the Friends of the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen are of course keen to increase its number of “friends”. We welcome people and companies who wish to find mutual joy and satisfaction in showing their friendship and support, both material and non-material, to this internationally renowned museum of modern and contemporary art. In return, the Friends offer their members a host of interesting events, as well as trips and excursions to exciting “art locations”.

Understandably, people living outside of Düsseldorf tend to identify primarily with the museums located in their own towns. Residents of the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia, however, should be mindful of the fact that the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen is also “their” museum, which is to say: it is not a Düsseldorf museum per se, but instead a regional art institution – a “Staatsgalerie”.
