We offer a wide range of themed tours and workshops for school classes. Our guided talks and artistic-practical offers are aimed at students from all age groups and school types, from primary to high schoolers. The topics and art works from our exhibitions and the permanent collection provide a wealth of starting points for art lessons, interdisciplinary projects and open all-day school activities.

As part of our educational program, students are given the opportunity to express ideas and attitudes that are relevant to their own identity and living environment. The aim is to allow children and young people to relate the art experience to their personal interests and experiences. The transfer between the viewing of art and everyday life is among others explicitly supported in our media workshop.

For school classes and daycare groups, we offer numerous suggested topics related to the permanent collections, as well as to special exhibitions in the K20 and the K21. In addition, teachers and educators are welcome to participate in our advanced training and informational events. All dates, events, and workshops are listed in the Calendar for Teachers and Educators (in German language).

The current calendar is available here.

We offer further further training and information events for teachers and educators on our special exhibitions and on current topics in the our permanent collection. Dates can be found in our Calendar for Teachers and Educators (in German language).

For daycare groups, we offer specific themes, with a focus on sensory and bodily perception. Our workshops for children 4 years and older are oriented toward an open-ended and lively creative process, and position the capacity for self-education on the part of young visitors at the center.

The aim of our offerings is to promote the child’s individual analytical and creative potential, as well as her familiarity with art and with the museum. Already in the early years, many children are confronted with a flood of medial images. In order to encourage children to deal with media in an active and reflective way, we offer age-appropriate workshops in the Media Workshop for daycare groups as well.
